Auditor Suzanne Bump To Speak at May NDTC Meeting
State Auditor Suzanne Bump will speak at the Natick Democratic Town Committee’s May meeting. The meeting takes place in the school committee room at Natick Town Hall, Wednesday, May 23 at 7 pm.
As state auditor, Bump’s role is to promote government efficiency and transparency, and to use audits and investigations to improve government performance. She is the state’s first female state auditor.
Among the 68 reports her office has issued in 2017 ad 2018 are an audit of the Department of Children and Family Services that found the agency could be more proactive in identifying cases of neglect and abuse; an audit of the Sex Offender Registry Board that found the board did not have current addresses for more than 1,700 convicted sex offenders; an audit of MassHealth expenditures on drug testing and screening services; and an audit of a state-funded program administered by the Massachusetts District Attorney Association to improve the retention of experienced assistant district attorneys.
